What's best for the U.S.

Well, first woman nominated for President. Now the challenge is figure out what is best for the nation. I really don't care much about the email controversy. If that is the worse she has done, so what. If the Pentagon computer can be hacked last year, then ALL information is a risk whether it is on private server or a government computer protected by bureaucracy. What the government thinks is confidential is also for the most part ridiculous.  If you think the email issue is what our future depends on, then I think you and Trumpyboy should be married.

And for all the noise about Bengazi, if there was anything concrete instead of conjecture, then I'd consider it.  Most of the rants I have read on the subject are very short on logic and full of unverified accusations.  Mistakes were made, by Hillary and the U.S. Security (who in the military is in charge of security anyway), but I do not see any bad intentions.  She did not want harm to come to our diplomats anymore than her accusers.  Like Gary Johnson, I think the mistake is having our butts in all the countries around the world.  If our butts are spread around the world, we are going to get burned from time to time.

.

Hillary has been under the microscope for 40 years .. sure she has screwed up, changed her mind, and probably lied a few times.  But, I am very impressed in her ability to get Iran to dismantle their nuclear reactors. Libya is a screw up, but it is consistent with the U.S. trying to police the entire world.  She is just one of most in Congress who still believe that should be our role. She has been on the hot seat a long time and has got a lot more right than wrong.

So, if I want the U.S. to quit being the world policeman, then I go to Gary Johnson.

Trump, a racist who insults my hispanic, Mexican and Peruvian friends is a no starter for me.  He violates my moral code in so many ways, it would take an entire post to elaborate on.  And, I find it irritating how stupid he is ... if he talks for more than 5 minutes he contradicts himself.  Why anyone believes a rich business man that has screwed people his entire life has their backs is beyond me.  I am sorry, but you are being conned.

.

Sure wages only going up 9% in 40 years is a serious problem.  But, most of it does not come from bad trade deals .. if anything the data says the opposite.  What it does say is that technology (computers, robots, artificial intelligence, smart machines, more efficient manufacturing, economies of scale) are making the worker and much of middle management obsolete. There are solutions, but America is not ready to change the way they think to accept these solutions.  Trump, by the way, has no clue what I am talking about ...

Trumpyboy is the stupidest candidate, yes even worse than Palin, that I have had the pleasure of laughing at my entire life. Take his solution for stopping illegal aleins and drugs.  Build a big wall along our border and have Mexico pay for it.  At first I thought it was a joke.  But, then I just realized that Trumpyboy is just plain-ass stupid.  He has no clue how most of the illegals and drugs comes across the border. He has no clue on HOW to do anything honest. And what he does see to know HOW to do is screw contractors, partners, and clients (students) by not keeping his word and using lawyers to fight lawsuits (3500) by those that dared to trust him.

And, I doubt that he is a billionaire.  That is his biggest con.  The way he runs his business he is so far in debt that only a con on the American public can save his ass.  When he fails at becoming a President his name recognition my be as great as the late Muhammid Ali.  He does seem to be very good on capitalizing on his name.

And as far as the Supreme Court goes ... I am very liberal, more liberal than probably anyone reading this post, so Hillary is not liberal enough for me.  Trumpyboy isn't capable of understanding my view of life, he would just call me an idiot and move on.   So, Hillary is the best choice I have when it comes to the Supreme Court.

If I had had the capability back in the Navy to do what she did with emails I might just be on the downside of my residence at Leavenworth but then I’m not a Democrat nor a Clinton

Don’t members of Congress have cell phones and therefore private emails. If so, then I am sure they send text and emails back and forth that contain stuff that you would have gotten in trouble for … it is the world we live in.

It is mainly the hypocrisy, one of their favored band wagons is civil rights and one big component of that is equality before the law.

We have a long way to go before that happens….rich have advantage over poor, whites over blacks, Christians over Muslims, etc. But i don’t think its an advantage to be democrat or republican. Trump via his lawyers gets favored treatment all the time in his 3500 lawsuits against him. Trump has a lawsuit against him for fraud by the state attorney in NY. How do you think that will come out. Same as the emails, i suspect.

I have watched politics for over 50 years. Have been through many hearings on Whitewater, the travel scandal. There are people that truly hate the Clintons. I am not one of them. I saw so much corruption over the years her emails do not concern me in the least. She wasn’t committing treason. She isn’t gong to give an inch once she is in. I would recommend ANYONE but TRUMP. He is a menace to the safety of the USA. Ignorance and arrogance are his game. I am not pro Hillary but am anti Trump.

I think it is funny that everyone’s like “Oh! She’s a lady. We should just elect her because it would be the first woman president!” And they think that the world is suddenly so much better for the ladies because she ran for President. I do not plan on voting for either one of them. Everyone is all “Fall in LINE! and get behind the Democrat!” but really, she’s an evil c you next Tuesday kind of woman who I would never want my daughter to grow up to admire. As a woman I never thought I couldn’t be President. So that argument is just lost on me. The rest of it is all hogwash. Honestly, if I got my way, I would have the American people make a louder protest by staying home on election day. Don’t vote for either person. But it would have to be a nation wide stand, otherwise it would just be a giant mess. But if it were doable would be an amazing way to get the point across to the powers that be.

DT (I refuse to write or say his name because the media does it enough for all of us) has just lost his mind and is a giant idiot. I don’t think there’s a connection between his brain and his mouth either.

No one vote? Then what? 4 more years? I could go for that.

grin…………………THAT is the question, for all of us who vote………what is “best” as we see it. Period. Neither Trump or Clinton are perfect, hell, who is. What each of us has to decide is who scares us least, who has more in common with what we value. This decision is not made by speeches, it isn’t defined by campaigns or a personal past. It is defined by, well, US, each and every individual voter. WE will make a decision and………………………whomever wins, we’ll all just suck it up. I don’t think either one of them is more or less “bad” or “good” than the other. So…………………we’ll see.

RRoe, chuckle, sigh…………………I’m not sure what I’ll decide when it comes to these two. eye roll

I have very strong convictions about each of the two candidates. And about the two parties. I think there are huge differences in philosophies and perspectives. I think the conventions pretty much illustrated that. I refuse to get into an argument here regarding my viewpoint and my values with people who see things differently. For me, there’s only one candidate in the running at this time whose platform embraces my core values and sees this country with the same vision as my own. But, because I have no desire to get caught up trying to justify my convictions with the likes of those who feel debate means debase……I’ll keep my cards close to the vest.

I am pretty sure you are on the Hillary bandwagon and that is probably the best way to stop the racist, bigot, rapist (first wife), bully that has conned much of America. I understand people’s anger and fear and how he taps into that, but i seriously question their courage, values, and judgment to back him. Backing him is like committing suicide to solve your problems.

As you can tell Joann, I am not bashful …. Americans with values need to take a stand and be counted.

Oh, I’m not on a “bandwagon” as that implies that I support one person, “hook, line, and sinker”, but I do take a stand. I put my money where my mouth is. And I willingly have these difficult debates with people I know. I am just not going to do that here. And I’m not going to get into a heated discussion with people who are not respectful of other’s opinions. That’s a lost cause. Those people are not going to listen, nor are they going to consider anyone’s ideas that are different from their own. There are a lot of angry people out there who’ve found relief and salvation in a candidate who reflects their own self-pity, bigotry and elitism. Those people are going to be very disenchanted when we, as a people, don’t resurrect the steel mills, the coal industry, and racism.

You would have enjoyed the movie at Theater N in Wilmington yesterday: “You’ve been Trumped”. It is documentary on how Trumpyboy treated people that did not want to leave their home for his golf course and hotel. He went off on them like he does on everyone that stands up to his bullying. He can be very cruel and he totally lacks empathy. A very depressing movie about a very sick egomaniac. I made my wife sick and unable to talk after the movie. She has a hard time believing such people really exist. She said this morning, it was if we had invited Hitler to dinner.
